Session Abstract | ||
Join us for a 2-hour session for early career researchers (ECRs) within the ITD community. In discussion with you, we will explore and expand the key themes from a handbook we co-created with ECRs for ECRs. This handbook was developed based on over fifteen coffee hours with ECRs discussing their challenges and concerns. Some of the answers were jointly elaborated with ECSs and extended with the expertise of senior researchers. Now it is a living document which is continually adapted over time to reflect changes and developments in the ITD field. The themes that we will discuss include research identity, ethics of ITD research, how to sift through the theoretical frameworks and methods of ITD research, among other topics. The event will also be a chance for participants to revise and add to the materials in the Handbook. We also hope to bring you on board for the future development of this co-created resource to help others shape the trajectory of their ITD (academic) journeys. The Handbook is now online here. This session offers the opportunity for ECRs to forge meaningful connections, get to know fellow researchers, and participate in dynamic conversations that transcend disciplinary boundaries.We will share insights, experiences, and perspectives to build a stronger foundation within our community. Additionally, it will be a space to find shared meaning within our career pathways by posing questions related to our professional goals. The outcome of these discussions will lay the foundation for Thursday's panel discussion "Navigating uncharted waters: Pathways of an ITD career". This session welcomes ITD researchers in all stages of their journey: undergraduates, Master's students, PhD students, postdocs, as well as more experienced researchers new to ITD research.
