Session Abstract

The session aims at making a diagnosis of the global trends early 2025, with speeches from: 

  • Dr. Younes Abouyoub, Head of Governance and State Building at the United Nations; and
  • H.E. Anil Sooklal, Ambassador at large to BRICS and Asia from the Republic of South Africa.

On the other hand, the sessions aims at drawing implications of this evolving context for need in terms of public administration training and development, through speeches of: 

  • Lichia Saner-Yiu, President at the Centre for Socio-Eco-Nomic Development (CSEND) and expert in capacity building and SDGs;
  • Peter Vandenbruaene, Head of International Relations at BOSA, the Belgian School of Government (SOG).

The session is chaired by IIAS President Ra’ed BenShams, Advisor to the Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and chairperson of the OECD School of Governments network
