Session Abstract | ||
Registration via external link This workshop will be offered by the former WG Theatralia project “Performing Arts: Transitioning to the Digital Age” (2021-23 / co-chairs: Anamarija Žugić Borić - Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research, Croatia and Cécile Chantraine Braillon - La Rochelle Université, France), financed from the DARIAH-EU funds open to working group members, as well as symposium participants. 1. Content: The workshop will be based on the WG's reflections on the composition of a model language for describing digital data from the performing arts. As a complementary theoretical-practical activity, the workshop will propose a working and training session on the discovery and manipulation of tools dedicated to the creation of controlled vocabularies such as Open Theso and Protégé. 2. Trainers Pr. Fatiha Idmhand (Université de Poitiers, France), Maya Larbi (Université de Poitiers, France) 3. Number of participants in person: 20 participants in person maximum 4. Format : hybrid mode 5. Requirements: - the participants must bring their computer (at least to share one computer between two participants) - the participants must have dowloaded / installed the software Protégé on their computer before the workshop (https://protege.stanford.edu/download/protege/4.3/installanywhere/Web_Installers/) THEATRALIA WORKING GROUP The former WG Theatralia project “Performing Arts: Transitioning to the Digital Age” (2021-23), also financed from the DARIAH-EU funds, has enabled the creation of an international network of researchers involved in digitising research in the performing arts. It also highlighted that one of the central issues in the epistemological transition implied by the digitisation of performing arts research is the need to reflect on a common computerised language for describing and representing the field. With the built team, WG Theatralia aims to initiate work on creating a computer model of knowledge and description related to the performing arts domain. | ||
