Topic: How do I publish my Privacy Statement with ConfTool Pro (in accordance with GDPR)  (Read 3618 times)

Corresponding to the European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), every operator of a website or a web-based system that processes personal data of EU citizens has to publish an easily comprehensible privacy statement. It is therefore advisable to publish such a statement on your website and link to it from ConfTool as well.

The link will be shown in the lower left corner of every ConfTool page.

The option to enable the Privacy Statement in accordance to European GDPR is available in the main settings. Please go to

Overview => Settings => Main Setup

and scroll down to "Privacy Statement". There are various options available:

  • Enable link to a privacy statement on your conference website. Using this option, you just have to enter URL directing to your current privacy statement.
  • Enable link to the default ConfTool privacy statement. If you use this option, you can still possible edit all parts of the statement (just click on “Edit Phrase”).
  • Enable link to your own ConfTool privacy statement. Choosing this option, you can enter your statement using the online rich text editor available on this page. The default statement is shown as template.
  • Disable privacy statement. If you are not going to process data of EU citizens, you can also use this setting.

Please don’t forget to save and test your settings.
