Topic: Show information about the conference time zone in the agenda and enable a personal time zone  (Read 3275 times)

We are organizing a virtual conference and our participants will not be on site. Is there an option to make attendees aware of the difference between their local time zone and the actual time zone for our conference sessions?

(A German version of this article is available.)

For virtual events, details on the conference time zone can be added to the conference agenda page.
We don’t think that this feature is useful for regular conferences.

Please go to:
Overview => Scheduling => Main Settings for Conference Session Overview

… and scroll down to the section "Display and Access Options for the Conference Agenda". Here you can update the option "Show Time Zone Information". Please use the drop-down list to select whether additional information regarding the local time zone of the conference is shown on the agenda page or not (image 1).

After this setting has been enabled, additional information about the current conference time will be available on the agenda page (image 2).

To give users the option to choose their personal time zone, please go to:
Overview => Settings => Settings for User Registration => Fields of the User Registration Form
… scroll down to the option “Select Box for Time Zone”, change the setting to “Yes” and click on the button “Save Data” (image 3).

Users can now select their local time zone when they create a new user account or when they edit their user details (image 4).

When users now open the “Conference Agenda”, their selected personal time zone and the current local time are shown on this page (image 5).

When users access the session details or their personal agenda (My Agenda page), the session time will additionally be shown in their personal time zone (image 6).
