Topic: Authors complain that they cannot edit their submissions  (Read 63392 times)

We have received some e-mails from authors who tell us that they cannot edit their submissions.
What can we do to solve the problem?

When authors cannot edit their contributions this can have a number of causes:
  • Please first make sure that the corresponding phase is enabled.
Head on over to the page:
Overview => Settings => Conference Phases and Deadlines
In the section "Submission and Upload of Contributions" make sure that the module is enabled and that you have chosen an end date in the future.
  • Furthermore, the track in which the submission was made has to be enabled.
    Please go to:
Overview => Settings => Manage Submission Types / Conference Tracks
Open the track and for the option "Submission Enabled?" make sure that the slider is set to "Enabled".
  • The submission must be given an acceptance status for which updates are enabled.
    Open the acceptance status here:
Overview => Settings => Manage Acceptance Statuses
Please first activate the expert settings by scrolling to the bottom of the page and clicking on the "Expert Settings Disabled" or the cogwheel icon.
Then make sure that the option "Enable Editing Paper Details" is set to "Yes".
  • By default, only submitting authors can edit the contributions.
However, you can grant co-authors full access to the contributions and allow them to edit them.
    Please go to:
Overview => Settings => Main Settings for Paper and Abstract Submission
In the section "Special Conditions for Paper Submission" for the option "Full Access to Submissions for Co-authors" choose the setting "Yes" (see screenshot).

Please be aware that only co-authors with validated e-mail addresses will be able to edit the contributions.
