Topic: Edit the wording / text on the ConfTool login page  (Read 12266 times)

How can we edit the information for submitting authors and/or participants shown on the ConfTool  login page (see image 1)?

(A German version of this article is available.)

Please remember to keep the information on the login page brief and clear. Too much information won’t be read anyway and some users won’t find the login fields if they have to scroll. We strongly recommend to put extensive information on your main website, e.g. on a page with information for authors and/or a page with information for participants.

You can easily edit all wording on the login page if you go to
Overview => Settings => Wording and Phrases
Please enter string "S_LOGIN_WELCOME" to get access to all related definitions. Choose the text you want to update and click on "Edit Phrase" (see Image 2). Please note that the text shown depends on the modules enabled (if modules for submission and/or participant registration are active) and other switches (for instance if a message has been enabled about the transfer of user accounts from the last conference).

If two or more languages are installed, please always edit the phrases for all languages correspondingly to avoid misunderstandings.

If you need advanced formatting options and are not comfortable with HTML, you may switch to the HTML editor (image 3).

You can also show the keys of all currently shown wordings on the login page.
To show the codes, please add
&lang=codes
to the URL in the address bar of your browser (see image 4). This page also shows you codes that are usually empty/hidden and for instance allow you to add information at the bottom of the page (like S_LOGIN_FOOTER).
