Topic: Limit the number of participants from one specific participant group  (Read 100476 times)

Our conference has two different participant groups – regular attendants and students. We would like to put a cap on the number of students attending at the conference. How can we limit the number of participants from this specific participant group to attend at the conference?

You can limit each participant group easily in ConfTool Pro (the standard version does not offer this feature, sorry).

Please go to this page:
Overview => Settings => Manage Participant Groups
… and edit the participant group for which you want to limit the number of participants by first marking it and then clicking on “Edit Participant Group”.

On the following page, please first activate the expert settings:
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Expert Settings Disabled" or the cogwheel icon.

In the section “Extra Attributes”, define for the option “Max availability” the maximum number of participants from this specific participant group (see image).

If you want to limit the total number of participants, please refer to the forum entry "Limit the total number of all participants (from all participant groups)".

You can also limit the maximum number per group manually in the Pro version. In order to do so, please go to:

Overview => Settings => Manage Participant Groups

and click on "Edit" to edit the corresponding participant group.
On the following page, untick the check-box for "Group Active and Visible?" in order to deactivate this participant group.
It then will now not be shown anymore to users or registrants who wish to register for participation.
