Topic: How to create additional currencies and/or bank accounts?

Besides the main currency we would like to create additional currencies so that the amount to be paid can be transferred in other currencies, too.

We want to provide different bank accounts for participants from different countries who want to pay in their respective currencies.

How can this be done?

(A German version of this article is available.)

ConfTool Pro supports only one main currency for registration.
However, you can define extra currencies and an exchange course and show the corresponding amount for the total of the registration on the invoice.

Please go to:
Overview => Settings => Main Setup for Participant Registration
... and click on "Expert Settings Disabled" at the bottom of the screen to activate the expert settings.
Go to the section "Conference Currency" and activate the option "Multi Currency Support".
You can decide whether to display the other currency for the total only or for each single item and the total on the invoice (see image 1).

You will now be able to access a new option on the settings page:
Overview => Settings => Manage Currencies and Exchange Rates
(The direct link to this page is: conftool.xxx/myconference2020/index.php?page=adminToolCurrencies)
Here you can create additional currencies, define exchange rates and enter alternative bank account details and further information for bank transfers (see image 2).

Continue to define the countries of the users for which the respective currency will be printed on the invoice. Please go to:
Overview => Settings => Manage the List of Countries
First, please enable the expert settings by clicking on "Expert Settings Disabled" or the cogwheel icon on the bottom of the page.
Then select a country and scroll down to the option "Special Currency Settings for This Country" to select an alternative currency and / or special bank accounts details for this country.

Example:
Your main currency is EUR but you have an extra bank account in Switzerland and want Swiss participants to transfer money in CHF to that bank account.

1. Create CHF as extra currency, enter the exchange rate and your bank account details:
Overview => Settings => Manage Currencies and Exchange Rates

2. Set CHF as alternative currency for Switzerland. Please go to:
Overview => Settings => Manage the List of Countries
Select CHF as "Special currency for participants of this country".
(Extra bank account details are not required here as they were already entered for the currency).

Please test your settings, i.e. register for participation as a user from Switzerland.

Please remember to update the exchange rates regularly, if required.
