Session Abstract | ||
Lecture + Discussion: Dr. Valentina Damerow The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) is the central self-governing research funding organisation in Germany and an important source of third-party funding for basic research at universities in all disciplines. It not only funds individual research grants, which can be applied for at any time and regardless of the topic, but also collaborative research or scientific careers. Dr. Valentina Damerow is Programme Director at the DFG's Head Office in the informatics team and is therefore closely involved in the work of the Permanent Review Board for Informatics (Fachkollegium). She will first give a brief overview of current funding opportunities relevant to computer science and the current review process. Subsequently, current developments (e.g. on the development of the subject area structure) and general questions about the work of the DFG can be discussed. |
